Jaipur city  is lined with forts and palaces and it transports one to the time of Kings and Rajput rulers.

I am taking you today to a magnificent fort which is situated about 11 Kilometers from the town of Jaipur , .

This is situated on Aravalli  hills overlooking the Maota lake.

Construction was started by Raja Mansingh but it was completed by Sawai Mansingh

This fort is a store house of fine craft work  and this red stone marble edifice would enthrall any tourist.

The separate halls which would spell bind anybody are Diwan-e-Aam,- hall of public audience, Diwan-e Khaas-hall of Private audience the Sheesh mahal where one would find exquisite mirror work on ceiling and walls and Sukh Niwas where walls are constructed in a way to keep the interiors cool.

The Rajput rulers and their families used to spend their time at these forts.

The other 2 forts situated slightly above Amer fort are Jaigarh fort and Nahargarh fort.

The Amer fort and Jaigarh  are connected by  subterranean passage . It was meant to be an escape rout for the royal family in times of war.

Enjoy a tour of Amer fort and surroundings. have tired to include as many as possible as pictures speak better than words.
